Optional Google account connection (Search Console API)

GSC Helper works without signing in to Google. Most features read data from your active Google Search Console browser session only.

If you choose Connect Google account (for example on the “Google Search Console API” page), the extension requests access to your Google account via Google OAuth. This is optional and only used for features that call the Google Search Console API directly from your browser.

What we access

  • Google Search Console data (read-only): property lists and Search Analytics data for properties you can access in Search Console, via the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly.
  • Email address: used to show which Google account is connected and to help you switch accounts. Requested via the email scope.

How it works

  • Authentication uses Google’s OAuth service and Chrome’s identity API.
  • API requests are sent from your browser directly to Google (googleapis.com). GSC Helper does not route this data through searchanalyzer.io servers.
  • Access tokens are stored locally in your browser (extension storage) until you disconnect or they expire.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your Search Console data with third parties.
  • We do not upload your Search Console API data to searchanalyzer.io or any other backend operated by us for this extension.
  • We do not use API access for advertising or unrelated profiling.

Your control

  • You can disconnect at any time from the Google Search Console API page in the extension.
  • You can revoke access in your Google Account permissions.
  • Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored extension data from your browser.

Data stored locally (all features)

Regardless of OAuth, the extension may store preferences, property sets, index history snapshots, annotations, and similar settings in local browser storage (chrome.storage / IndexedDB). This data stays on your device unless you export it yourself.
